As the Catechism of the Catholic Church encourages us, “From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God” (CCC 1032).
Please know of our love for you and our desire to be united with you in praying for your beloved deceased through the month of November. The following will be offered: Mass at Father of Mercy Chapel, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy Novena, and a daily “Prayer for Our Beloved Deceased” found at the end of this page.
We will honor the beloved deceased through a month of prayer and during the All Souls Mass and Evening Prayer on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. in Father of Mercy Chapel.
Praying for your beloved deceased is an honor, and there are several ways to send us their names. You can submit the names of your beloved deceased online, or you can mail in a form with your beloved deceased’s names. The names of your beloved deceased are due by Monday, October 22nd.
Daily prayer for Our Beloved Deceased:
Father of Mercy, we thank you
for the gift of your Beloved Son.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion,
have mercy upon our beloved family and
friends (add their name(s) here)
who have died.
May they know the fullness
of your Trinitarian love forever in heaven
with our Blessed Mother, the angels and saints!
United in prayer with Mother Mary,
we ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the power of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
